Welcome, brave adventurers…
… to the one hundred thirty-seventh entry into our chronicle, recorded on Saturday October 3rd, and released Wednesday October 7th over at heroesrisepodcast.com.
In this week’s Adventurer’s Pack, Ostron is thrilled to…and there’s a bunch of scribbling on the sheet, with a big note in Ostron’s handwriting that says “NO PUNS.” So he’s talking about something anyway. Next we check out some D&D News as we uncover:
- All the goodies in the latest Humble Bundle
- And we find out who’ll take the title of Wisest Adventurer In The Land
After that we take a Short Rest and open our Adventurer’s Journals to learn why Tactics are not just for battlemaster fighters; before finally heading over to the Scrying Pool to see what you have to say.

This Week’s Community Questions
So do you think Ostron’s defense of his crown was legitimate, or is Ryu correct and Jeremy doesn’t know what he’s talking about half the time? Were there any particular rulings that made you go “huh?”
Have you read all of the Drizzt novels? Have you read any? Do you think they’re worth grabbing or are they skippable?

Really, really liked the Tactics segment. Was curious about one thing. I remember the 4 roles (controllers, leaders, defenders, and strikers) from 4E (which I never played). However… “Strikers … do damage to the enemy above anything else and rogues are the go to example in this case.” Why rogues and not fighters? I thought fighters were the typical “tank” which stood on the front line dealing damage to the opponents in front of them. Rogues are stealthy attack from behind kind of attackers. Maybe we could call them “behind strikers”?
