Heroes Rise, forty-seventh entry: Smells Like Ravnican Spirit

Welcome, brave adventurers…

… to the forty-seventh entry into our chronicle, recorded on Saturday October 27th 2018, and released Wednesday October 31st (aka Halloween) 2018 over at heroesrisepodcast.com

For our Adventurer’s Packs this week Ostron succeeds his sleight of hand check and steals a magic item set  from Lennon. Next we check out some D&D news as we discover:

  • How the newest terror of Undermountain could be one of your own design
  • Why the DMs Guild Style Guide is useful for players and DMs other than as a sleeping aid
  • The latest DotMM spoilers from Nathan Stewart
  • And what we learnt from the TwitchCon Ravnica Panel

After that we take a Short Rest and look at creating adversaries for an evil campaign, before finally looking into the scrying pool to see what you have to say.

Ravnica, a not so subtle marketing scheme by the good people at WotC. I think it is too soon to tell how this will effect players and fans of D&D. It’s hard not to be intrigued but I feel like this could make campaigns and role play kind of muddy.
As to Ostron’s shower thought on the beasts of burden humanoids…I spent a lot of time in my youth working around farms and livestock. Minotaur and Centaur will indeed stink. Even in World of Warcraft centaur are animated with small swarms of flies about their hind quarters. I kind of want to build a Kender whose job is to follow adventurers around with a shovel and manure cart. Seems like he’d be a paladin?
