Heroes Rise, one hundred twenty-sixth entry: Professional Buttered Tuna Wrestling

Welcome, brave adventurers…

… to the one hundred twenty-sixth entry into our chronicle, recorded on Saturday July 11th, and released Wednesday July 15th over at heroesrisepodcast.com.

In this week’s Adventurer’s Pack, we all get envious of Ryu’s new purchase. Next we check out some D&D News as we uncover:

  • … well, I’m gonna give you the tl;dr version up-front here ‘cause there’s not a lot: D&D Beyond Player Mobile App is now in public beta, so check it out, but not a lot’s changed since we tested the alpha; Green Ronin are struggling and may go under so please go and buy some books from them (I particularly like the Lost Citadel 5e setting, and they also publish the TTRPG of The Expanse (which is just the best sci-fi series created #screamingFirehawks)); aaand there’s a small fire going on involving Wizards diversity hires, a freelancer who appears to have been mistreated, and a resulting mass exodus of twitch streamers from 5th edition. Links are below for all of that.

After that we open our Quest Logs as Indigo Specter lets the djinni out of the ceramic jar in The Annihilation Hold, and then we take a Short Rest and head into the Archives of Candlekeep to learn about the fall and rise of the orc; before finally heading over to the Scrying Pool to see what you have to say.

Statement from Wizards of the Coast

We [Wizards] recognize that some of the legacy content available on this website does not reflect the values of the Dungeons & Dragons franchise today. Some older content may reflect ethnic, racial, and gender prejudice that were commonplace in American society at that time. These depictions were wrong then and are wrong today. This content is presented as it was originally created, because to do otherwise would be the same as claiming these prejudices never existed. Dungeons & Dragons teaches that diversity is a strength, and we strive to make our D&D products as welcoming and inclusive as possible. This part of our work will never end.

This Week’s Community Questions
The D&D Beyond Mobile app is now in open beta. Have you given it a try? Is it everything you ever hoped for, or did they push it to beta too soon.
What’s your take on a monthly dice box? Something that you’ll skip, or is it something your wallet better not hear about lest it burst into flames?
