Heroes Rise, sixty-third entry: Stranger Things Have Happened

Welcome, brave adventurers…

… to the sixty-third entry into our chronicle, recorded on Saturday February 23rd 2019, and released Wednesday February 27th 2019 over at heroesrisepodcast.com

Brave adventurers, we love creating our Dungeons & Dragons podcast, and we’re hoping you’ve enjoyed all the entries into our chronicle so far! We’re hoping to continue filling out our journal going forward, but just like the mighty heroes hauling themselves to the apothecary or the blacksmith to freshen up their gear after an adventure, we need your help to accomplish that, and there’s a couple of ways you can help.

The Heroes Rise Patreon is a great way to support our show. Your regular donations mean we can not only keep the lights on, but we can also invest in better equipment and get us out to more conventions to get you the latest news as it happens. We have several tiers to pledge at and in exchange you not only support the show but can snag yourself a Heroes Rise t-shirt, access to the raw recordings of the show before the Wednesday release, and we’ve even got a couple of Patreon-exclusive shows in the works. To become a patron just head on over to patreon.com/heroesrisednd, or by visiting the links on our website. We also want to thank all of our Patrons no matter their tier for their donations each month. Your regular support helps us to bring you the show each week, and we really couldn’t do it without your help.

If a financial donation isn’t your thing, that’s cool too! Every time you share our show with friends, family, or your friendly local gaming stores, you help our audience grow — and that’s ultimately why we do this: to bring everyone the best quality Dungeons and Dragons news, tools and tips show each week. We really do appreciate every like, share, retweet and new listener that our fans outreach helps to bring in, so keep up the great work!

Alright, on with the show! What’s in store for our brave adventurers this week?

This week for our Adventurer’s Pack, Ryu’s put in a bit more than a token effort. Next we check out some D&D News as we uncover:

  • D&D’s Statement regarding Zak Smith
  • The next expansion coming to the Neverwinter MMO
  • The auction of many things
  • The adventure of Stranger Things
  • And news from two Wizards of the Coast partners we thought you’d like to hear

After that we take a Short Rest and dig up some Unearthed Mundana, taking a look at proper medieval village life, before finally looking into the scrying pool to see what you have to say.

mThis Week’s Community Questions
For the DMs: How do you create NPCs on the fly? Any tips you can share with Draley?
For the Players: Who was your favorite NPC in one of your games (or the one that you love to hate)? What made them memorable for you?
Are you going to be picking up a copy of the Stranger Things Starter Set? Have WotC missed the boat on this, or did it arrive precisely when it meant to?
